Project 1.2 "Beam: Resisting Bending", by Vorapat Phornprapha

Bent resistant, a feature necessary for an ideal beam. This allows the beam to carry the load and transfer it down to the column without breaking or buckling. This beam is designed based on the idea of wood immateriality. The system of stacking pieces of timber to form a stable structure is utilised.

By having the main structure carrying the load the piece of timber is made into an arch like form where the weight distribute in a curve formation down to ground and a sub structure to help support the area where the main structure remained intangible to the ceiling.
