1.1 Column, Mathilde, Lightcolumn,

The column is inspired by old Greek columns. You can see it in its circular shape and the horizontal lines. The difference is just, that this column is hallow. In the centre, it lets in natural light. This creates a beautiful lightning pattern and it also allows nature into the room. In the middle it would be possible to grow flowers or plants. This would work very well for a pavilion or an outside area. But cause the tropical temperature it would be better to use artificial light inside the column, so it doesn’t affect the temperature of the room.

The structural value of the column is 11 small rectangular pieces placed in a circle. They are made from reinforced concrete, by steel reinforcing bars inside. The concrete is a mixture of white sand and white concrete, to make it reflect light easily.
